A game similar to Arma 3 with optimization would be something like a streamlined version of the same genre, focusing on performance and efficiency while retaining core mechanics.

BF4 comes closest but still differs in some aspects, yet it performs excellently.

Call of Duty. Huh huh. Apparently, there aren't many top-notch games, especially good ones. Arma has a pretty special set of experiences.

Sure, it seems like BF4 might be the answer. The only other titles that come near ARMA are Operation Flashpoint series, though I doubt they're fully optimized.

BF4 offers a solid experience, yet I sought a hands-on shooter similar to Arma.

It's a mix of insurgency and tactical combat, similar to Counter-Strike, COD, or Battlefield. It's focused on small teams and strategy, not open-world exploration. The main drawback is its limited appeal to Russian players.

The game Squad feels quite interactive.

Yeah! I believe JackFrags posted a video about this (it's surprising he didn't make it about Battlefield 4). It seems like an interesting game, though it hasn't been released yet.

The only way to obtain it is through a donation to their kickstarter campaign. It comes with a higher cost.

There is insurgency, and if you are willing to back in time there is red orchestra 2/rising storm I can think of several 'simulator' type games that are focused on WW2, I just can't remember their names, I can try and figure out their names if you want.
