This area appears to be a vibrant community focused on technology, particularly around computers. It seems like a good spot to locate solutions for my issues. I recently switched from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, and while the interface improvements are noticeable, my performance in Minecraft has taken a hit. Previously, I maintained steady 50-60 FPS with minimal variation, but after the upgrade, I’ve seen drops to 5-10 FPS in parts of the map and 20-30 elsewhere, rarely exceeding 30. I only changed a few things—optimizers in Windows 8.1, some graphics card updates, more RAM for Minecraft, higher priority settings, and closing background apps—but nothing seems to stabilize the issue. I’ve spent hours searching online without much success. If anyone has ideas or fixes, I’d really appreciate it.
I also attempted that, and I removed other versions but found none.

Some might argue that even basic requirements could make the initial claim seem false. ...possibly due to compatibility problems or installation hiccups. Personally, I didn’t face major issues with Windows 10. Suggestion: note your Windows 10 serial number and consider a clean install using the media creation utility or hold off until the issues are resolved.
I'll verify your graphics driver settings such as NVIDIA Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center aren't enabling Vsync. NOTE: Also, if you haven't done so, clearing and reinstalling all Minecraft components can help rule out game or mod issues.
I'm in a League of Legends tournament right now, but I will take your advice and tell you what happened. TYSM for the replies though!
I switched Vertical refresh to 'always off' instead of the earlier setting, but it didn’t affect anything. Next, I removed my .minecraft file, uninstalled Minecraft, and reinstalled it. Now I’m seeing a consistent 20-30 FPS in areas where I previously had only 9 FPS, which seems like a positive change. ^.^
Minecraft can be a bit tricky due to its lack of optimization, which means tools like Optifine aren't always reliable. Try testing different settings and observe how your RAM, CPU, and GPU are being utilized while running MSI Afterburner in the background during gameplay. For instance, if your GPU isn’t fully used, it suggests a potential bottleneck affecting graphics performance.
EDIT: Don’t forget to reinstall your motherboard chipset drivers, as the Windows 10 update might have removed them.
