Hey! I’ve noticed similar issues with my internet too—sometimes a normal ping jumps suddenly to high numbers, like from 80 to over 500. It’s frustrating when games behave that way. Let me know if you want some tips to check or fix it!

You have no control over pings. Perhaps switching to a wired connection would help. Also, the speed is 27/15 Mbits—slow by today's standards.

It's interesting how many users still use 6/1. However, it seems like you're on DSL, and other people or devices connected online can trigger a surge regardless of activity. Contact your ISP and request switching from interleaved to fast connection.

Even with a slow connection, multiple users online shouldn't disrupt gaming—provided they aren’t hogging all upload and the router is functioning well. I recall when it was 8 years ago, I had a 20/2 mbit connection and could play games while torrenting without issues, as long as I configured it correctly to allocate bandwidth appropriately. The spikes he’s facing might stem from router hardware problems, a faulty DSL modem, poor routing to the server, or someone else consuming all available bandwidth on the network. QoS can assist in resolving these issues.

It seems like you're thinking it might be related to network capacity.
