My setup details: I used an Asrock B560M Pro4 Intel i5 11400f CPU cooler with Arctic Cooling Freezer 34 esports white. It had one fan for the CPU and two additional fans for the other CPUs. The case fans included one Arctic Bionix P120 front and three more on the sides, all connected together. RAM was 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz, split into two 8GB modules. The GPU was an Fantech Aero CG80 with an RTX 3060. The power supply was a cooler master MWE Gold 550W. When I powered off the machine, no red indicators appeared, indicating everything was functioning properly. At that stage, I had all components except the processor cooler, which was missing. I eventually acquired the RTX 3060 and installed it afterward. During assembly, hardware worked without issues, and no overheating occurred. Software was stable, meeting all expectations. Later, I noticed red lights again—initially only when the system started, then they stopped after power-up. I checked online but couldn't find a clear solution. Possible causes included a faulty CMOS battery, though the motherboard was only a year old. Overall, everything seemed fine, and I remained concerned about the recurring red indicators.
The indicators illuminate to show which component is being tested during the POST phase. If the DRAM remained active yet the system failed to start, it points to a RAM problem. The same applies to the CPU and other parts. The lights turning on and off is typical behavior. The computer should boot successfully.
Your motherboard displays numerous indicator lights. If the system functions, the red light might simply mean power is reaching the GPU.
