since i lost interest i chose to boost my wifi signal up to our top paddock at 1.8km (no issues). i had looked through some options and planned to install it in our paddock bomb using the following items from ebay router: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Portable-Wir...:rk:8:pf:0 adapter: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-x-Female-U...:rk:6:pf:0 antenna: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-5KM-High-G...ctupt=true (point the antenna toward the existing 2.4ghz wifi router) seeking guidance (i had no prior experience, eager to learn)

The setup won't function with the available gear. A device like the Ubiquiti PowerBeam AC would be necessary.

It could potentially function, but Ubiquiti would offer significantly better reliability and speed since they employ an enhanced WiFi protocol specifically designed for outdoor applications.
