Hello, here are the details about this device: Intel Core i7-13700K with 32GB DDR5 memory at 5600MT/s, paired with an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card (Studio drivers version 581.57). The motherboard is MSI PRO Z790-P with Wi-Fi, running BIOS 7E06vAF1 (beta release—might have missed several updates). I’m using a Corsair PSU (model not specified) and the latest Gold Win 11 OS is available but not previewed.

Regarding the problem: It occurs during light tasks like watching videos, making Zoom calls, or browsing the web. It only happens when I’m using non-heavy workloads—such as 3D rendering or gaming. It started about a month ago and has happened roughly once a week so far. During these events, the monitor loses signal while the GPU fans increase speed. The audio remains functional with a soundbar connected directly to the PC. I’m unsure if the keyboard still works, but it seems the only solution is pressing the power button to shut down.

I’ve tried several fixes: reinstalling GPU drivers (previously used gaming drivers), rebooting after turning off and on, clearing capacitors, and resetting CMOS. I also installed Razer Axon and set a video as background, but killing processes didn’t help. The event viewer showed no errors or BSODs. Temperatures, memory usage, and VRAM seem normal. I ran stress tests on the GPU and found no issues. I’m planning to update the BIOS and would appreciate any additional tips!

Open Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System and locate the most recent Kernel-Power Event ID 41. Click right-click, choose save, and upload the .evtx file.

It wasn't a simple frozen state; the logs show you used the power button to shut it down. The GPU failure seems most likely responsible. Try using DDU to uninstall the existing driver and then install the latest one. Although this driver is quite outdated, Nvidia has confirmed it's the best available version recently.

Sure, I’ll keep it concise. After updating the BIOS, the system appears stable, but it’s hard to confirm if the issue is fully resolved without a deliberate test.

I'll handle this by using normal language and spacing, then repeat it after a few days or a week as requested. Let me know if you'd like me to do that!

It just occurred once more while I was watching a video. I updated both the BIOS and the driver you recommended :l. If it matters, I’m using a 1440p HDR screen (HDR is enabled). PS I removed the old drivers using DDU with Windows in safe mode.

The GPU seems to be the best choice available. Adjust its placement and the PCIe power cords. It would help to try it on another computer if possible, though many users lack a spare machine with a 4090 port.

GPU seems to be the likely culprit, though it performs well under normal conditions until it unexpectedly fails during minimal tasks like streaming or browsing. I attempted a reset—reassembling the GPU, power cable, and RAM—and since the PC was already open, I cleared some dust (a routine task every couple of weeks). Let's observe the outcome:

By the way, another PC could support the 4090, but it's a micro ATX model. That means I might need a riser cable and the PSU lacks sufficient GPU connectors (650W). In that scenario, bringing in a new PSU would likely be necessary. The CPU bottleneck would become even more noticeable, though this is just for testing purposes.

EDIT: Issue recurred today, about a day later.
