I believe I made a mistake by putting my router in Access Point mode without assigning a static IP. Now I’m losing WiFi access and can’t log in to reset it. I attempted a factory reset, but it didn’t help. I’ve pressed the reset button for 10, 15, or 30 seconds with or without cables, but it still doesn’t work. If anyone could assist, I’d really appreciate it. Tim

Configure a fixed IP on the device connected to the router and attempt to reach it through that method. Do you recall the original local IP given to the router?

I don’t have the details about the IP you’re using, and the reference you mentioned isn’t clear. Also, I don’t recall the exact IP address you were talking about. Can you provide more information or clarify what you need?

The IP addresses are likely 192.168.8.1, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Disconnecting it from power can help reset it as well.

The guide specifies using 192.168.8.1 as the router's IP address. Adjust your device's settings to 192.168.8.2 with subnet 255.255.255.0, configure DHCP server at 192.168.8.1 and DNS at 192.168.8.1. Access the router's web interface via https://192.168.8.1.

You mentioned adding everything but are unsure about the DHCP placement.

They referred to the entrance, you had already configured it.

Factory reset should function properly, though it may take longer than anticipated. Usually wait until the lights begin changing around the 10-second point, then it should reset in about five minutes. This can be frustrating if you consider turning power on too soon, but it’s best to follow the instructions carefully. The procedure might vary depending on the model—some require holding a button while resetting or applying power.

I attempted, yet I keep pressing the reset button but the lights remain unchanged. The instructions say to hold it for six seconds. Once I release it, the PC stays connected without any interruption. It seems the device isn’t actually restarting the router.
