Checking if enabling hyperthreading boosts your gaming speed and frame rate. You're running an Intel I7-3770 with a GT 1030, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, 256 GB SSD, and 1 TB HDD.

In certain titles, perhaps. Usually, it offers only minor improvements if any. It won’t make a difference at all. The GT 1030 is the main constraint in this case.

Choosing a GPU different from the GT1030 can boost your frame rate. Disabling hyperthreading is likely to lower fps, since 4-thread CPUs become a limitation in recent games when older i7 models still offered hyperthreading.

Do you have additional tips for boosting FPS without upgrading your graphics card? Your monitor is 60Hz, and most games hit 60fps at 1080p. You mainly struggle with Jedi Fallen Order, which drops to 30fps at 1080 or 45-60fps at 720p. Your system uses an SSD for the OS and a SATA drive for games. You don’t anticipate a major performance jump from moving files to the SSD.

Reduce quality to 720p or adjust scaling to 50% or a range from 50 to 100%. With a solid PSU, you could boost performance and save money by swapping the GT 1030 for an HD 7950/7970.

The power source can only accommodate GeForce Gt 1650, which draws energy exclusively from the PCI Express port.

Occasionally, specific games struggle with hyperthreading or simultaneous multithreading. In those situations, it might work, but generally your GPU will be the main constraint.

You should consider a PSU+GPU setup if you can afford the GTX 1650. This gives more flexibility for better power and options. Unless you're limited by a specific connector type.

My setup is a Ciara Discover with a standard PSU and prebuilt system. I’m looking to boost performance, but only for one game. Otherwise, I feel I have enough power. I’m considering buying a better PSU and GPU if it means a new machine, but right now I’m happy with the current configuration.
