The problem appears to be ongoing despite recent cleaning efforts. It seems unrelated to overheating since the PC still experiences issues afterward. Observing others with similar problems but different causes adds uncertainty. Lack of technical knowledge about computers means some explanations might not make sense. This occurs specifically when playing games for an extended period, though the computer functions normally initially.

Which fans are getting more attention? Case fans, GPU fans, CPU fans or everything? It could be anything crucial for the PC's performance. CPU, graphics card, RAM, motherboard, power supply, drivers. The software setup matters too. It may still be an overheating problem. If the thermal paste has set, clearing dust won’t stop heat buildup. Also, having details about the hardware specs (CPU, motherboard, graphics card, RAM, power supply) could be useful.

I'm attempting to repeat the process to identify which fans are accelerating. CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 GPU: Radeon RX 580 Motherboard: B360M Bazooka RAM: 8GB teamgroup-ud4-3200 PSU: ATNG POWER CO., LTD Model: ATM-500FB Regret if I made an error.

Typically I wait a few minutes after beginning a game before diving in. My PC usually handles everything fine until then. I’m also considering upgrading to a new machine because mine is around 5 to 7 years old. Edit: It could also be that my PC is overheating—maybe just reapplying thermal paste would help.

Have you checked your temperatures regularly? Overheating usually doesn't lead to this problem. A properly constructed PC rarely needs cleaning unless your surroundings are excessively dirty and dusty, restricting airflow in extreme ways. It's possible the cooler wasn't installed correctly, which could have harmed your processor over time—consider replacing it if you're tracking temps. Unless you're sure, it's best to let a hardware expert with access to parts assess the issue. Even if you plan to upgrade, you might still be able to fix it and sell the remaining components for profit. If the diagnosis points to a failing GPU, CPU, or RAM, discard those parts instead of replacing the whole unit, and resell the rest to improve your budget for future upgrades.

While running Chrome on my PC, my CPU temperature consistently remains around 60-70°C (140-158°F). When launching a game, it rises to 75-80°C (167-176°C). I used the NZXT Cam to monitor this.

Your idle temperatures seem quite elevated compared to what I'm accustomed to. Are you in a very warm environment? Your load temps (if they stay consistently in the 80s throughout all gameplay phases) aren't unusual but don't seem to be the main issue here. You still have the option to replace your cooler if you prefer. However, I recommend checking out my initial comment for more insights.

I plan to check if reapplying the thermal paste resolves the problem, and if not, I’ll seek help from a professional. Others have reported success with this fix, so I’ll observe the outcome. Appreciate your guidance!
