I recently purchased a 24W soundbar with both USB and 3.5mm audio connectors. I connected both to my motherboard and turned on the PC. The monitor display wouldn’t turn on as expected, only activating after logging into Windows. Once it did, the screen would black out and then come back on. After removing the USB from the PC, I plugged it directly into a separate power adapter, and the issue disappeared. I ran benchmark tests to check for GPU issues, and everything looked normal. It seems moving the USB somewhere else resolved the problem. My monitor only has HDMI and VGA ports, and I use an HDMI cable with a 5V DP-HDMI adapter on the GPU side. The speaker uses a 5V USB cable.
It might be an issue with the display port or HDMI cable, possibly a faulty power supply unit or outdated graphics drivers. The 5V powered DP-HDMI converter could also be the cause—test with a standard HDMI 2.1 cable to determine the source of the problem.
This problem literally only happened once I plugged in the new speakers to the mobo. The PC ran crash free before with the old speakers and is running crash free now, the black screen was just the monitor turning off for a few secs and then turning on again while the rest of the PC still runs (so not a crash). And I'm on the newest driver, the 532.03 driver. The problem therefore is most likely some conflict with the DP-HDMI adapter. The HDMI port on the graphics card is still fine, it's just that there's only one of it, so I'm trying out the DP-HDMI adapter on the DPs.
