Hey everyone, just completed my first build. When I downloaded the graphics card driver, the screen went black and then shut down immediately after startup. It displayed the Windows logo before stopping. I’ve looked into it myself—some drivers seem to clash. I tried removing old drivers using Safe Mode with the display uninstaller, but now I have no games installed and can’t launch Battlefield 4. What should I do? My specs are: ASUS Maximus VII Hero, GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 G1 Gaming, 2x Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB RAID 0. Running on Windows 7.

When drivers are removed, retrieve the previous versions only; newer ones may introduce issues.

Yes, you can locate older drivers on their own websites by searching for driver groups or forums dedicated to experienced riders.

I also used them after a fresh installation, but each still produced a black screen.

Others mention a black screen problem with DisplayPort. Are you checking your monitor and the specific port it uses?

I haven't come across that before; it could be the one you're referring to. I'm working with an ASUS vg248qe that supports DisplayPort.

I managed to use the HDMI connection successfully! It's disappointing not having 144Hz, but your thanks mean a lot!
