Show the display problem on your LG TV.
Hello, I’ve observed unusual display behavior and am trying to understand the cause. A few months ago, switching to a 3060Ti allowed me to set the refresh rate to 120Hz on my secondary monitor (an LG TV). In this setting, especially with HDR, the TV occasionally goes black briefly before returning to normal. When it does reset, the “Instant Gaming Response” notification appears on the screen. Initially, I suspected the HDMI cable might be faulty since it wasn’t HDMI 2.1 and I was attempting 4K at 120Hz. I replaced it with an HDMI 2.1 cable, but the issue persists occasionally. My question is whether the GPU or the TV itself could be responsible. I’ve looked online for similar reports from LG TV users and PS5 owners, but no solutions were found. If anyone has insights, I’d really appreciate your help. Thank you! P.S. The TV model is an LG B9, and my drivers are current. My main monitor (AOC 1080P IPS) seems to be functioning perfectly.
I own the same TV with a 3070 port. It seems the HDMI cable is likely still in use. As you increase the data rate, more strain is placed on the components. You might find success with a different cable, though that’s uncertain. Currently, I don’t often encounter this issue, but it was more frequent in the past. Since I don’t use HDR, it could be less of a concern for me. On the PS5, there are settings to lower the data rate, but this might affect image quality. I haven’t explored that further yet.
