My GPU is interfering with my SATA ports and my RAM is having issues. I’m considering upgrading to a new motherboard and RAM, but the presence of AM5 makes me wonder if it’s worth it. It seems cheaper to replace parts rather than upgrade to AM5, though I still think it’s not a huge gain. I mainly don’t play games—just have a 5 5500 and a 6650 XT. These should handle most games, except Baldur's Gate 3 which struggles later in the campaign due to too many entities. Even with an upgrade like the 5700x3d, it should last a while since I don’t need much performance. Plus, older parts are getting cheaper in my country.

In my country (a third-world nation too), 5700x3d is now worth $1400, whereas 7500f remains at $899, and no one seems to care anymore.

To add more SATA ports, you can install extra PCIe SATA controller cards. For RAM issues, adjust the settings or replace the RAM. No need to upgrade the motherboard.

That is soooo individual question depending on means and needs. You have to weigh in that newer platform would afford you longer use and possibility of easier updates of HW. On the other hand, it's much higher cost investment requiring MB, CPU and RAM at least. Now you have in reality bottom end Ryzen 5500 that is just a pretty crippled 5600(X) from low end in series. Even 5600x and certainly 5700x without 3D would be improvement. Not all games, specially older ones can benefit of that extended cache. So that's what I would recommend on your case, upgrade to 5700x which is easy to cool and switch to while you can still sell your 5500 for decent price

unfortunately, my WiFi card is taking up space, but I also really wish for more M.2 and PCIe slots, even though it's not essential.

Yeah, my 5500 isn't the top choice, but that's why I think staying on AM4 makes sense since it meets all my needs perfectly. You mentioned even the 5600x would be a big upgrade.
