Here’s a concise version of your setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | GPU: RTX 3060 Ti | Motherboard: ASRock b450 Pro4 | Power Supply: SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 650W (80+ Gold)

Consider upgrading if you want better performance, especially with gaming improvements you’ve noticed. Otherwise, your current setup still works well.

an r5 3600 offers sufficient performance for a 3060 ti. I'm hoping AMD will announce their 5nm process soon before I upgrade my older ryzen 5 2600.

What resolution and refresh rate do you need? Upgrading won't offer much advantage for most players, as you'll likely hit GPU limits in almost every title. Most tests use RTX 3080/3090 with 1080P setups on CPUs, which creates a perceived performance boost but isn't real. It works well from a reviewer's point of view, but it's less important if your GPU is weaker or you're using higher resolutions.

Upgrading to a CPU for the 3060 Ti and swapping the GPU for one with the 3080 would likely boost performance without spending more money.

The only valid upgrade would be if you required additional cores. If your processor isn't restricting your performance, you should be okay for now. Consider getting another generation or two to notice a more significant boost in speed.
