Hello there,
I’m planning to upgrade my system in the next few days, but I’d like to keep costs low. I’m wondering whether it’s wise to purchase a new watercooling AIO and a replacement PSU. Since I prefer watercooling, I don’t want to suggest an air cooler.

Right now I have a 530W 80+ Bronze PSU and a Corsair 240mm AIO radiator. I’m unsure which model exactly, but if it matters, let me know so I can try to identify it. Both seem to be around four years old, so should I upgrade them for safety or won’t it really matter? I’m planning to overclock my system once everything is set up, so I’d like to know if upgrading this hardware would give me a better chance of stable overclocking.

Additionally, I want to know if choosing a more advanced motherboard would affect my overclocking performance. I’d prefer the most affordable option, though I aim for around 4.2Ghz across all cores on my new R5 2600.

Budget for these two items (the old PSU/AIO) is about 200€, but I’d appreciate the cheapest choice that still offers decent quality for a stable PC.
The overall upgrade budget (CPU, motherboard, RAM, PSU, AIO watercooler) is roughly 500€.

Current setup:
- CPU i7 4790K
- GPU GTX 970
- Motherboard Gigabyte Z97m-d3h (RAM slot not working)
- RAM 16 GB DDR3 2400Mhz (one broken)
- Cooling Corsair AIO 240mm (uncertain compatibility with new AM4 socket)

Upgrade plans:
- Motherboard: Some B450
- RAM: Compatible Ryzen RAM
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
- PSU: Possibly needed
- AIO watercooler: Maybe optional

PS: English isn’t my first language, so please give me a chance.

Question: "I don't want to spend that much money...". What is your budget - how much can you, or are you, willing to spend?
Please update your post to include your budget.
