Should I OC 3400G and what method?
What motherboard do you use?
What is the precise power supply model you have?
Which CPU cooler are you equipped with?
Could you describe your case model? How many fans are installed, where are they placed, and what orientation—intake or exhaust—is each one set to?
For most Ryzen processors, overclocking isn’t practical due to limited headroom. Many are already near their maximum capacity, and even with optimal cooling and a solid motherboard, they typically cap around 100-300mhz. Achieving higher speeds would require significant effort and time, unlike simpler past systems.
motherboard model is B450M-A from ASUS
power supply unit is VS450
cpu cooler comes standard
case is a basic Sharkoon setup with one front fan and one back exhaust
i was thinking about doing a simple overclock using some Ryzen tools or bios hacks instead of a full diy overclock
Using automatic software for overclocking is a weak decision since it restricts performance even more due to the high auto voltage setting. With a standard CPU cooler, overclocking isn't feasible at all. If you truly wish to try and achieve a solid overclock—especially with automatic features enabled—you should opt for a superior CPU cooler. A model like the 20 dollar Gammaxx 400 would suffice, but the cooler that comes with it won't support overclocking.
