Consider your preferences and system requirements. If you enjoy Windows 8, it might be worth keeping it. However, if you prefer the stability of Windows 7, going back to 7-bit could be a better choice. Your decision depends on what matters most to you.

It really comes down to personal preference. Win7 offers a smoother experience, while Windows 8.1 has shown improvements for gaming performance.

I turned off the metro permanently; StartisBack was added, and it works much better—it's so much quicker and more efficient than version 7.

I’d retain it, just grasp a few useful Windows shortcuts and you’ll be okay. Win + D takes you to the desktop, Win + E opens your PC, Win + R launches when you press the key. Pressing the Win key alone brings up the metro screen where you can start typing for programs. Right-clicking the Start icon gives a range of options. You wouldn’t actually require Windows 7 like the start menu anymore.

I really enjoy Windows 8.1 since it features a very appealing UI with a clean design. It's also decent for gaming, ChrisTech.

This looks like a great combination. It should work well until the 9th comes along.
