Hello everyone, I have a Ryzen 5 3600 with B450 motherboard. I’m thinking about swapping my GPU for an RTX 3080. Should I go with the 3070 and pair it with a 5600X Ryzen? My current GPU is an AMD RX 570 4GB.
I use an ASUS 1440p 175Hz G-Sync screen. I enjoy playing MMOs and triple games, especially in a cyberpunk vibe.
The CPU should handle 120+fps gaming without issues, and upgrading is only necessary if it struggles in a specific game. The 3070 works well at medium to high settings, especially with ray tracing enabled. It's unclear if Cyberpunk includes DLSS, but the 6900XT could affect pricing if stock remains limited for top-tier models.
Your CPU is working well, it shouldn’t struggle with a 3080 to any major extent—though you might get even better performance with a 5900x. Switching from an rx570 to a rtx3080 will be a big upgrade! The value of the frames you gain may not justify the cost of a new CPU. The main challenge will likely be finding a compatible 3080. By the way, what’s the interest in a B450 M. MO?
