Hi there. I own a Ryzen 3 3200G with Vega 8 graphics. My system has 8 GB of RAM (4 GB in two sticks). I have an 8 GB SSD, two HDDs, and Windows 10 64-bit installed on one of them. I play PUGBOCOC, which often causes network lag. It’s frustrating. Right now I’m considering two upgrades: increasing my RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB or adding a 128-bit SSD. Which would help improve game performance? I’m running at very low settings and usually get around 60 FPS, but sometimes it drops to 5 or 6, causing the game to freeze for a few seconds before returning to 50-60 FPS. Network lag is definitely an issue, but to fix my FPS spikes and stutters, what should I pick? Also, I noticed my RAM shows only 5.93 GB usable—any advice on that too?

I assume most of your issues stem from network problems. You should experience similar FPS drops regardless of your hardware quality.
Make sure your connection is properly wired to the router. Also consider changing the DNS servers. You might see improved performance by using Cloudflare, Google, or OpenDNS instead of your ISP's default DNS. The best option depends on your location relative to each company's nearest DNS servers. Test different ones to find what works best for you.

Hi there, thank you. I need some guidance on this. I'm in Pakistan and use Ptcl broadband connected via Ethernet to my PC. I'm looking to choose between two options for better stable FPS without a big performance drop or slow rendering. Also, my 8 GB RAM shows about 5.93 GB usable. What should I consider?

Modify the DNS settings in the Windows control panel. You can also adjust the DNS used by all devices on your network within the router's configuration. However, this process depends on the router model. For now, switch to the DNS provided by Windows. Experiment with different providers to find the most responsive one. You can follow the link for Windows instructions. Google offers DNS entries at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as alternatives. It's unclear if Google maintains local DNS servers in Pakistan, but there might be better options available for your region.

Check a reliable speed test website to evaluate performance. Keep in mind that good DNS settings mainly reduce latency rather than significantly boosting internet speed. The PING value is the most relevant metric for speed tests.

Delay any upgrades until you resolve connection-related problems. An SSD can speed up game loading, while additional RAM is beneficial only if your current amount is insufficient. It could also improve performance if you currently have just one stick and adding two would enable dual-channel usage, particularly with integrated graphics. Be mindful that integrating RAM may cause compatibility issues, as older and newer RAM modules might not work together or function at reduced speeds.

Display images from CPU-Z for CPU, memory, and performance sections.
(Upload to imgur.com and share the link)
With integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM is allocated for the iGPU and isn't accessible for regular system operations.
If your motherboard allows RAM overclocking, consider upgrading to faster RAM and additional capacity.

I wasn't sure if I could upload directly here, so I moved it elsewhere. Please help.

And also I want to know if I should purchase additional 8GB RAM for consistent FPS, or opt for an SSD and store the game and Windows there. I currently achieve 50 to 60 FPS, but it's not steady.

It's improbable to resolve your problem, but I'd suggest upgrading to an SSD if you haven't already. Your computer would feel significantly better with one.

So - your motherboard allows for RAM overclocking.
CPU-Z doesn't display the actual RAM speed, but it seems to be around 2133mhz or 2400mhz.
AMD Ryzen processors are quite responsive to RAM performance.
Upgrading to faster RAM would certainly enhance both system and integrated graphics performance.
I recommend a dual-channel kit of two 8GB modules at 3200mhz (or 3600mhz if budget permits).
Also, consider disposing of or selling your outdated slow RAM—don't keep it in the setup anymore.
