You can run Windows 10 without cost if you reuse an old license from Windows 7 or 8, there’s no benefit in purchasing it at full price

They mentioned getting a Windows version of the software for free through an MS tool. You don’t have to purchase it; just use your existing Windows copy without activating it, so you avoid any costs. The only drawback is some cosmetic issues when using it that way. Also, what @Radium_Angel mentioned.

Even when purchasing a license, it's generally better to download the installer directly from their website for free, then add the license code whenever convenient. I usually keep a USB containing a Windows 10 installer handy, making it easy for anyone needing Windows to simply use the USB and handle licensing later.
