I moved some files yesterday in my explorer and spotted a "Linux" section under This PC, which I hadn’t seen before. It doesn’t open the properties window and there’s nothing listed in the tab. Since I don’t have a dual-boot setup or another OS installed, it’s possible something unusual is happening. Could it be a virus or is this just something normal?

It's within the network, so it shouldn't be included in your compilation but a nearby device with a similar name

It stands apart from the network, just notice the arrow was not visible in the first screenshot.

This occurs due to the integration of Windows subsystem for Linux in recent Windows updates.

It's typical though; I thought just enabling the optional features GUI and checking the box would trigger the update. So I can see why you're concerned. If you need it removed, locate the optional feature program and uncheck the linux-subsystem. That should take care of it.

I was able to submit the request without any effort from my side in at least two of my systems.
