Shortcut for Windows users who want to overclock CPU and RAM quickly, accessing UEFI or BIOS directly.
Are you upgrading your CPU or RAM and tweaking performance? Are you switching between Windows and UEFI/BIOS frequently? How often have you tried the old way to restart, only to miss the DEL or F2 button in time? Once or more than a few times? You’re not alone—I found a quick fix. Just double-click a Windows desktop shortcut to jump straight into UEFI/BIOS from Windows, cutting out the delays and repetitive key presses. Follow these steps: click right-click on the desktop, choose New > Shortcut, enter shutdown.exe with the /r /fw /t 2 options, name your shortcut, adjust properties, set it to run as administrator, and press OK. The reboot command will now use the specified delay. If you need extra security, you can also create an elevated shortcut. For more details, see the links provided.
Certain topics are best discussed at specific moments. Although this article is helpful, we're focused on a non-overclocking community. It's a typical tech space where most members aim to get things running smoothly without spending hours adjusting for peak performance. What I won't share openly depends on what the question needs right now.
