Hello everyone, I'm trying to set up an automated smart home routine on my Mac using a HomeKit compatible power plug and the Shortcuts app in Monterey (or Automator). The goal is to have the plug activate when the Mac is powered on, and shut off when it powers down or is turned off. This setup involves a 12V adapter that runs a fan inside the cabinet to keep the computer cool. I've searched through the Shortcuts app but haven't found a way to link the Mac's wake status as a trigger. It seems like this feature isn't available, or I might have missed it. Would Automator be an option? The trigger needs to work automatically. Right now I manually switch the fan on with a physical button near my monitor, so having a software button would be unnecessary. If I have to manage it myself, sticking with the current method makes sense. Thanks for your assistance!

These occurrences aren't immediately accessible as prompts in macOS by default. Yet, a highly effective automation solution named Keyboard Maestro offers them along with numerous others. Keyboard Maestro isn't complimentary, yet it provides robust automation capabilities.
