The green light indicates that your hub is functioning properly and connected to the network. On a Chromebook, this means the Ethernet connection is active and ready for use.

This generally indicates a link is active with traffic flowing through the port, meaning the system is functioning properly.

Do you have a reference code we can check? Usually a flashing light on a network card shows data flow, though it might also relate to connection speed or hardware issues.

I don't possess a model number since I discovered this hub in a dollar store and discarded the packaging. It clearly lacks any branding or online identification details.

No, there isn't a silk-screen near the blinking LED that explains its meaning.

Each connection has two lights—one steady and one that flashes.

Also, is it a central point or a routing device? It seems unlikely to have been used for hubs in the last 15-20 years, especially with a dollar store item—it might be outdated. If it supports Gigabit speeds, it functions as a switch; if it's slower, like 100Mbit to 10Mbit, it could act as a hub.
