Shaders question...
Shaders question...
Someone else has had to notice this... Do all PC games automatically download shaders? The reason I ask is because when I had the Nvidia card and received a driver update, the first time after that when I started Apex Legends, it would "compile shaders," just once after the driver update. With AMD cards now I haven't seen that happen. Does it occur without us realizing? For other games like Hunt Showdown or BF2042, does it happen per map? Like, the first time you play it might feel a bit stuttery because the shaders are being downloaded? It would be great if all games let us know. Any advice would be appreciated.
Apex Legends likely employs shader caching to boost performance. Many games offer a setting to turn it on or off, and some automatically handle it without user input. Shaders aren't being downloaded; they're essentially small programs the GPU uses to display images, and the computer must generate them through a process called "compiling."
