it outlines the challenges faced while installing the Yeston GPU on various ASUS builds. the process encounters issues with the GPU turning white at the VGA port, preventing further progress. despite repositioning it in different motherboards and risers, the problem persists. previous setups with the Strix 1060 worked without issues, but Windows 10 installation fails to register the drive, while Windows 11 shows a compatibility warning. the situation is urgent as this board was meant for a birthday gift, and resolving it quickly would help keep the project on track.

Thank you for the update. It seems the Yeston GPU functions properly in your previous setup but not in this newer configuration.

Using riser cables like PCIE 3.0 with a motherboard and GPU supporting 4.0 can cause problems. Adjust the BIOS settings to change the PCIe version from 4.0 or Auto to 3.0. This issue is common with newer boards and GPUs that support 4.0. For Windows, ensure the BIOS is updated and install Windows 11 using a USB installer. Avoid using a pre-installed drive, and consider a fresh installation for better compatibility.

Not sure if its in UEFI mode, the Boot says Launch CSM is enabled, with Both EUFI and Legacy Oprom then legacy only in three different slots, See attached I'm using a Windows 11 USB stick, it says System is not compatible, when using my windows 10 stick just to see if it would download at all is when it wont see the Drive in windows, The drive is a clean drive that is brand new with nothing pre-installed. side note where would I be able to find TPM 2.0? and as a response to both of you, checking the BIOS reveals I'm using BIOS 4204, and the website says BIOS 4408 Is the latest, How would I update that as it appears I don't have a Flash Bios Button

You can find the BIOS update file on a USB stick and install it there. I don’t have much experience with this type of motherboard, so I’m not sure how to proceed. Regarding the Windows installation, if the OS was set up on the USB in UEFI mode, booting from Legacy mode might cause issues.

Switch CSM to UEFI or UEFI only based on available choices. Boot from storage devices must use UEFI to access the Windows 10/11 installer. The system warns it isn’t compatible with Windows 11 unless TPM is configured as TPM 2.0, otherwise it suggests using Hardware TPM instead of Firmware TPM in the BIOS. Enabling CSM has changed your boot settings from UEFI to Legacy, which is intended for older Windows versions like Windows 7 or Vista. You should either reset the CMOS or switch CSM back to UEFI. To update the BIOS, you’ll need another computer to download the update file and install it onto a fat32 formatted flash drive. Insert the drive into the PC, load it into the BIOS, choose q-flash/ez-flash, and follow the instructions using the update file. There are numerous tutorials available online and a manual guide in your motherboard documentation.

I'll attempt to flash it first; it seems EZ Flash 3 is the tool Asus installed. For Legacy Mode, should I disable CSM, switch OPROM to just UEFI, or keep everything else as UEFI? Or try a mix of options?

Try enabling UEFI and check if Windows installs. If successful, you can keep the BIOS unchanged while adjusting UEFI settings.
