You can set up both networks independently without needing extra equipment. The ONT already provides several LAN ports, so connecting a second router directly to it should work easily.

Mainly it comes down to whether you need the subnets to communicate. Using a managed switch with VLAN support could be a smarter choice.

It's feasible, simply connect it to the LAN port, turn on DHCP for every router, and it should function similarly to a switch.

Get a simple access point. I assume you wanted the DHCP server disabled. These systems often include routers with their own DHCP, which can cause issues if additional routers are added without proper setup.

APs are also possible. They’re simpler to configure. When the wireless router acts as a DHCP client, it operates in AP mode.

Certainly, you can operate it independently as a standalone router instead of relying on it solely as a basic modem.

Set up a backup internet link for the ONT and connect the router to the second port—especially with Chorus ONT, a 100mbps secondary service is available.
