Origins launched with notable technical problems, and Warner Bros. later stated they didn’t intend to resolve them due to focus on the DLC, which was a rushed process. Despite this, I experienced fewer issues after playing it a few years later compared to Arkham City, though I still struggle with City’s performance in DX11. I appreciated the narrative and the more serious atmosphere of Origins, especially since it felt more aligned with the Batman universe than most other titles. My limited exposure to Batman media beyond Nolan’s films likely contributed to this preference.
I really enjoyed Origins and the narrative. Just remember not to draw parallels with City and keep your expectations realistic. I understand it doesn’t fully resolve the storylines, but I’ve seen similar issues before.
It performed okay on my 580 at full power without any AA. I could handle AA without trouble, but PhysX reduced GPU usage. In some really demanding moments I saw around 27 FPS, though the visuals were still impressive and worth it. The worst case was during a tough fight where lots of PhysX were active.
