You recently installed a new Alienware monitor and swapped it in for your old ROG setup. Now you have four monitors total, keeping the main one as a secondary display. The issue arises when both are active: only one shows properly while the others remain inactive. Turning off the Alienware causes the system to switch back to the ROG, but they don’t function simultaneously. In Windows 10 version 10.0.19045, the display settings behave differently depending on which monitor is active—ROG and Alienware toggle between each other without both being visible at once. The greyed-out state in the Windows UI and the display selection issues suggest a configuration conflict or driver problem.

You might be wondering why Windows treats the Asus monitor as the primary screen and doesn’t let another display take over. Have you checked if the device manager shows the Asus monitor as the main display, and tried removing it to see if the system recognizes it no longer?

I initially thought the same, tried several options but faced the same issue. After further checking, it seems removing one of the other monitors allows the Asus screen to work, though I can't exceed three displays. I recall having four before and never using a 2160p model—could there be a limit, such as only three or fewer if the display exceeds 1080p?

I checked online and found that Windows 10 only supports a resolution of up to 5120x2880. This means your Asus monitor isn’t displaying correctly because it exceeds its horizontal limit. You can rearrange the display settings so the Asus is positioned above the Samsung monitor, allowing both to function properly. It may not look exactly as you want, but you’ll be able to use all four screens together.

I also attempted adjustments earlier, trying a similar setup where all monitors except Alienware were set to 800x600. The fourth monitor still won’t power on, and even after turning off Alienware, changing the Asus display to that resolution didn’t work. Additionally, because the ROG model is disabled in Windows, I can’t modify its resolution or control the display unless I disable another setting.
