Hello forum. I own an Acer Predator 15 G9-593-72VT. I need to execute some specialized software designed for a Windows 7 setup. I've attempted to use Hyper-V to run Windows 7, but the application demands too many graphics resources and I'm unable to activate RemoteFX for OpenGL. I've used Rufus to create an ISO of Windows 7 on a USB stick, but faced two issues: 1) I can only boot to the USB in legacy mode within BIOS 2) Once booted, the installation fails because the Windows 7 install lacks required SATA Controller drivers. I obtained an Intel 64-bit Windows 7 driver (iaStoreA.sys) from their site, but when selecting it from a folder on my second internal HDD, the system cannot locate it. I've tried mounting the Windows 7 ISO as a VHD, cloning the drive, then using sysprep and re-cloning to a physical HDD, but still encounter boot errors. This is my first dedicated workstation laptop since I rely on it for professional tasks and I'm frustrated by the frequent file transfers from my main desktop. Any advice would be invaluable.

Skylake mobile systems don’t work with Windows 7 unless the manufacturer creates special drivers for the device. To enable Windows 7 compatibility, you should obtain a Haswell mobile model such as an HP Zbook 15 (affordable used).

Hey there. Looks like you got yourself in a tight spot. You’ll need to stay up until the end to wrap up everything on Windows 7. Thanks for the help, Droidbot!
