I've been attempting to raise the starting frequency of my 5900X + B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 from 100MHz to 101MHz, aiming for a range between 4.8 and 4.7GHz. Despite adjusting settings in BIOS, nothing seems to update. CPU-Z isn't reflecting any changes either. The expected base should be around 105MHz, but it appears there might be an oversight or something I'm overlooking.

If the adjustment you're aiming for is bus speed, then 100.98 is practically 101. Changing from 100MHz to 101MHz x47 could mean either 4700MHz or 4747MHz, matching what your image shows. I understand why the base would be set at 105MHz since the 5900x uses a 4.8GHz clock; at 105MHz x47 you'd reach about 4.9GHz, providing a solid 235MHz boost or overclock. If you're focusing on that, it seems you're getting exactly what you need.

For this image the starting frequency was 105MHz x47, which should have been around 4.9GHz, but it didn’t appear and ended up at just 100.98MHz. It seems the system kept the lower end instead of reaching the higher speed. I don’t believe Ryzen would go beyond that stable setting.

Open the task manager and note the processes it detects under normal and heavy load conditions. Since you prefer a stable performance between 4.7 and 4.8, consider using 101 x47 or even 100 x48 as a safe setting. The AMD chips typically don’t handle high overclocks well, so the base clock listed is likely the maximum they support. This behavior isn’t reflected in CPU-Z, which might be misleading.
