Settings for Windows are missing.
Hello everyone, I attempted to connect a Bluetooth device to my computer and opened the settings, but it didn’t work. I switched to using an existing Bluetooth speaker yesterday. Now I’m trying to check for Windows updates and the settings remain inaccessible. I’ve tried various methods to open the settings, though they keep failing. Occasionally I see an error stating that the Windows settings aren’t installed. In CMD, I ran a command to register an AppX package, but it returned "command not recognized." Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The control panel functions, but updating Windows from there isn't possible. I can't access settings or perform a window update, and nothing appears to be working. When I enter the same code in Windows PowerShell, it triggers numerous red errors. There must be an issue with the Windows settings app.
Reset the Windows Store Open Run window (Win+R), then execute WSReset.exe. Ensure you're logged in with admin privileges. If nothing changes, open Command Prompt as administrator and run SFC /SCANNOW. Try the settings app again. If issues persist, use DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
Save the ISO file, extract its contents, and enhance your Windows 10 setup. If you’ve already reached version 1909, you can still proceed.
You can identify your Windows version by checking the system properties or using built-in tools without opening settings. As a Windows Insider member, you can access advanced features that help troubleshoot updates directly from the app. If needed, waiting a short period may allow automatic updates to resolve the issue.
