Settings for the question offset on the Gigabyte MMO card?
Hey, I noticed a video about adjusting the offset voltage, which can reduce the CPU temperature from 80-85°C to around 65°C during stress tests. I wonder if Gigabyte offers a similar setting under a different name, or if lowering the Vcore voltage is an acceptable alternative.
Yes, and regarding the 'offset' voltage correction. Setting the core voltage manually keeps Vcore constant regardless of load conditions. This causes the processor to operate at higher temperatures because it requires more voltage even under light loads. Reducing the voltage can help with cooler performance during moderate loads, but it may affect stability when fully loaded. Using an offset voltage adjustment lets VCore mimic auto-mode behavior—adjusting up and down with load, peaking during heavy use and easing back during lighter loads, which aids cooling. I've noticed this effect on my B450m Mortar motherboard after the BIOS included VCore Offset adjustment. Of course, VDroop adds another layer, as voltage drops when the processor loads the VRM, making it harder to monitor accurately. Nonetheless, offset voltage adjustment still supports better thermal management.
That's correct, there are no similar options available for an Aorus b450M. Your R5 2600 works fine.
What I cannot share is that I don't own an Aorus B450M. However, I can mention that I had a Gigabyte B350M Gaming 3, which I really didn't like, but it did include an offset VCore adjustment. This was the only method that caused frustration because adjusting the precise value was difficult. You'll recognize it as an offset change if you can input a negative number; give it a try. You won't be able to set a negative voltage directly, only a negative offset.
