Setting up XMP on a brand new system... encountered issues.
I've recently installed a new system and noticed XMP Windows crashes shortly after logging in, accompanied by multiple error messages each time. The hardware specs include an Asus Strix z790 WiFi-E I9 13900k, Asus Strix 4090 OC, Asus Thor 2 1000W, 4x16GB Corsair vengeance DDR5 at 7000MHz. Could this be a faulty RAM module? Everything functions normally without XMP enabled. Any advice would be appreciated.
It seems most people mention problems with 4 sticks of DDR5 RAM, especially when XMP is active. This likely points to the 4x16GB configuration being the issue.
This setup is a recipe for trouble. The Intel memory controller runs around 6400MT/s and isn’t very reliable, especially with just two DIMM slots. When you try to run four units like this, things get even more unstable. There’s no solid evidence anyone has managed 4x16GB DDR5 stable above 6800, and speeds over 6000 require a lot of tweaking. You won’t just get lucky with XMP settings—you’ll need to manually adjust things to realistic levels if you hope anything works.
