Attempting to set up a new M.2 SSD in your HP laptop involves replacing the existing slot and using a USB drive to install Windows 11. The process requires careful handling of the single available slot. If the SSD isn't being recognized, check connections and ensure proper formatting.

Yes, you can access the laptop's BIOS by restarting the device and pressing the appropriate key during boot (usually F2, F12, or Del during startup). Once inside, you'll be able to verify its recognition.

It is acknowledged there. However, I’m unable to assist further since the Dell BIOS on this device is restricted to basic diagnostics.

You can start from a USB drive and then access the Command Prompt to run DiskPart.

This applies to Windows 10 and also works on Windows 11. Your disk might not have been set up yet, so initialize it as a GPT drive first. Avoid using the MBR because it was a legacy partition format.

Navigate to the boot menu via F12, not the BIOS. Pick the Windows USB for installation on a Windows 10 system. After setup completes, it will prompt for time settings and keyboard language. Proceed through the installation steps, then decide which drive you want to use for Windows installation.
