I purchased an SSD for my brother who lives abroad; he doesn’t know how to set up Windows independently, so I pre-installed Windows 10 on this 2.5-inch SATA SSD. My laptop uses a standard SATA port and currently runs Windows 11. I just need to install the Windows installer as if it were on a new device.

You’d have to (temporarily) swap your laptop’s disk for the new one. After that, set up Windows as usual. Once done, just replace the disks again. The problem is you’re installing Windows on a different system than where it should run later. This causes unnecessary system drivers to install while missing the ones needed once it’s on your brother’s machine. He’ll also need GPU drivers for his computer. It might be better to walk him through the process, as it’s not too complicated. You could give him a USB stick with the installer and explain how to boot from it.
