It could be a simple question, but can the Ethernet port also function as an input? Since we don’t have Wi-Fi signal in the loft, but we have a LAN cable connected, is it feasible to connect this extender using the LAN cable so we get Wi-Fi coverage there?

Check for a wireless access point instead of an extender when LAN is installed in the loft.

This device is quite outdated, only working with certain older wireless protocols (up to version n). The one below offers AC and dual-band functionality (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) plus AP mode capability. https://www.amazon.nl/TP-Link-AC1200-Wif...B01MD1SKLL

That's correct. The other factor I mentioned is that older gadgets lacking support for 802.11ac standards tend to lose access to security patches much earlier, leading to a quicker end-of-life.
