Setting up W10 from a USB drive on Windows starts with a boot logo screen.
Last night I attempted to switch my PC to UEFI mode instead of Legacy, but had to remove everything from the old drive. Moving it to the old 4TB HDD allowed me to boot and set up the SSD, though I lost access to its contents when it reset. To fix this, I used the Windows Media Creation Tool to install a fresh OS on a 16GB USB drive. After disconnecting power and unplugging the HDD, I rebooted with the USB connected. Initially, I encountered either an endless blue screen or a striped orange/white display. I reformatted the USB with my laptop and rerun WMCT, which now loads the Windows logo after exiting BIOS if I disconnect the base USB. When I tried UEFI mode, I got stuck on the ASRock logo without progressing further. I’ve reset BIOS settings to defaults, tried switching to CSM with legacy/UEFI, and reset CMOS, but nothing has changed. My HDD no longer detects properly, so I can’t access the SSD again. With limited funds, I’m stuck trying workarounds without spending money on new hardware.
