You can set up a dual-boot without reinstalling Windows 8.1. Use a dual-boot setup tool to install Yosemite alongside your current OS, keeping your 300GB HDD and 48GB for Windows 8.1. For the backup, allocate 111GB of space on your 300GB drive.

Yeah that can work but you will need to reformat the whole drive to create the correct partitions. Also you can't just install a .DMG. Please list all your specs.

For a smoother and more secure setup, I recommend using a second drive—ideally an SSD—and installing it on that device. I’ve done it before, and it simplified the process.

Mainboard model ASRock H81-DGS R2 supports socket 1150 with Intel H81 chipset. CPU options include i3-i4130 (Haswell). GPU is Palit GTX750 and includes a built-in Realtek ALC662 audio codec. Storage is a 500GB WDC WD5000AZRX drive. Power supply provides 600W via LCPower. You already possess a bootable Yosemite USB stick.

Currently I don’t have funds for extra SDD, but an HDD around 80GB with a 7200RPM might work.

Make sure it connects to SATA port 0 for the bootloader to function properly. Also, remove your regular HDD during setup just in case.
