Setting up MAC OS on Windows 10
Hello, I checked the Apple website regarding Mojave OS. They say it’s free to download. My thought is whether I can get a file of Mojave and install it on Windows 10 using a VM. Since the price is listed as free, it seems only possible from Apple devices. If I can’t download it outside those devices, could you share another method to obtain Mojave? Thanks, Dupi
Some important points:
1) macOS is free only when you own a Mac; otherwise you're using it without a license.
2) The file arrives as a Mac disk image (DMG), which Windows can't open directly. While there are tools to read it in Windows, they don’t grant full functionality.
3) Running macOS inside a VMWare setup is technically feasible but very complex. It often needs patch updates and doesn’t work well with VMWare’s hardware support, making it impractical.
The restriction has been removed a long time back. Even Linus had a video about it.
Expect limited results from virtualizing Mac OS. It might work, but speed remains an issue. I've tried this before, yet performance is still poor.
