Hi, if you want to run Windows 7 without a hard drive or OS, you can use a USB optical drive that contains the installation media. Just insert the Windows 7 install disc into it and follow the setup steps. You don’t need any operating system on the USB drive itself—just the disc will handle everything.

It's feasible, though simpler (and more affordable) to employ a flash drive... Ugh, I'm late for DEcobra11 on June 2nd, 2014 at 8:30 PM. By the way, just converting it to NTFS and pasting the entire ISO into its root folder helps on certain motherboards too.

It functions with any USB ODD, though a USB flash drive offers better speed. For the flash drive option, use Universal USB Installer.
