Rufus is a free tool you can download easily. Simply follow the steps provided. Using GPT will clarify things once you run Rufus. You’ll need to create a new bootable USB, and Rufus will request an image file, then locate your Windows installation image from another computer if needed.

Linus created an excellent tutorial on installing Windows. Watch it first before trying anything else. Despite installing many operating systems over the years, that video reminded me of my limited knowledge about computers. Please view it first, and feel free to reach out if you encounter any issues—I'm here to help.

I received this from Gemini regarding your motherboard. Please enter BIOS and try it. To activate Secure Boot on an ASUS Z790 Gaming board, access the BIOS/UEFI options and go to the Secure Boot area. Choose "Windows UEFI mode" to turn it on. You might also turn it off by selecting "Other OS" in the Secure Boot settings.

For MBR and GPT issues, which seem likely the source of your concern, you’ll need to adjust BIOS settings accordingly. Generally, newer systems with Windows 11 should use GPT with UEFI. If you must use MBR, enable Compatibility Support Mode (CSM) in BIOS.

To set boot mode: Enter BIOS/UEFI, adjust Boot settings, pick UEFI/GPT, and ensure the correct drive is selected. Remember to save changes before exiting.

It seems the smart ones showed up. Here’s what you should know about setting up Windows 11—though I had to skip it a bit due to some unexpected delays. Life got in the way, so retirement came early.
