Hi everyone. This problem started when I set up my new PC in early January. My system would randomly boot with a faint red hue, turning blues into purples and skin tones appearing more orange. I tried the DDU fix by removing the GPU driver and reinstalling it, but the issue resurfaced each time I restarted—possibly due to a GPU problem or Steam’s installation of certain games. Recently, I performed a hard reset to identify which program triggers the tint, and after installing the first game from Steam (Halo MCC), the red tint returned. Do you have anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions to avoid constant red tint while playing on Steam?

What method you're using to check the connection is still relevant today. Modern displays often rely on different protocols than VGA, so you might need a different approach.

Yes, a hard reset typically means reinstalling Windows to restore it to its original state.

I'm using a DP but it's definitely not the cable - I've tried different cables on all available ports (including HDMI) and no changes..

Instead of talking, it would be better to display an image.

Capture the screen with printscreen and share it on another machine. Check if the image appears tinted—could be a monitor problem or a software glitch.

Thanks for your message! I understand you captured a screenshot before and after using DDU to remove the GPU driver. The difference you noticed—purple before and blue afterward—is clear. It seems the issue resets when you boot up, especially after installing a game via Steam. You're wondering if a particular Steam game is responsible for this behavior. Any insights or advice would be really helpful!
