Hello. I'm setting up my first PC and have everything ready except for the i3 12100f CPU. The stock BIOS on my MSI PRO B660M-A DDR4 board doesn't support it. I looked up a tutorial online, but it mentioned a different model that required a special BIOS flash button. My board doesn’t have that feature, as shown in the attached picture. Since I don’t have another CPU to test, anyone could you assist me with this issue? Thank you.

You cannot modify the board unless you have both the CPU and the flashback button.

The MSI PRO B660M-A lacks flashback support as shown in the manual. Upgrading the BIOS will require a compatible CPU, otherwise it's not possible.

Check the installed software list or its configuration settings to identify the active version.

You’re not sure which BIOS version you have? It looks like your system might not be compatible with the motherboard. You could visit a shop that sells computer components or a repair service and ask for assistance—just mention you need help and they’ll guide you. Sometimes you’ll pay a small fee, around 10 to 20 dollars. In Europe, you might consider ordering the cheapest compatible CPU online and returning it, as EU regulations allow up to 10 days for returns without questions.

Insert the CPU and check functionality; if it doesn't work, the unit is outdated.
