You can assemble a NAS PC using any hard drives you prefer. It’s recommended to use an older computer with a couple of drives installed, then install a NAS operating system such as FreeNAS, Synology DiskCenter, or similar. Connect it to the network by plugging in your router and entering its IP address (like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1). Adjust the settings according to your preferences, and you’re ready to manage it via the GUI or control it remotely.
