I attempted to upgrade my PC using a bootable SSD, but the Windows 7 installation failed, resulting in the SSD being completely erased. With Windows 10 releasing soon, can I perform a clean install on the SSD while keeping all my programs on the HDD unchanged?

I would disconnect the HDD and perform a new installation on the SSD for Windows 7. Enable it via the automated phone system to transfer activation from the HDD to the SSD. Proceed to upgrade to Windows 10. Reconnect the HDD and reinstall any registry-modifying applications. I verify progress by testing each program on the system and reinstalling those that fail to launch. Most Microsoft applications should be reinstalled, Java too, while Steam games will need to run their first startup again but won’t require re-downloading. Other standalone titles generally don’t need reinstallation. If you play Minecraft, transfer your saves to the new AppData folder. Consider these edge cases carefully. I truly hope this assists.
