Check the operating system and choose the right software. On Windows 7, open Start, then navigate to the Startup folder, and locate the executable file for the program you wish to launch automatically.

It's located in the task manager on Windows 8. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, go to Task Manager, select Startup Tab, then Edit Programs. EDIT: Noted you can't directly pick programs there. Follow the suggested steps and use "Schedule Tasks."
