Hello everyone, I'm looking for guidance on adjusting the BIOS settings for my new build. After assembling the PC and running a benchmark for the AMD Ryzen 9950X, the results are about 15% below the chip's potential. I believe the B650 chipset imposes some restrictions, but fine-tuning the BIOS could help achieve near-full performance. My setup includes a Gigabyte B650i AX motherboard with F32 BIOS, a 96 GB RAM system, a 5060TI 16 GB SSD, Corsair Platinum SF 850W, and water cooling. I aim for optimal standard or best performance from the processor. Thanks in advance!

Have you explored PBO and CO (Curve Optimizer)? This works for Ryzen 9000 too.

The current motherboard features a 5+2+1 VRM setup, which should suffice for the AMD Ryzen 9950X. This configuration provides adequate power delivery for standard performance needs.

Which benchmark are you testing? Your result is unrestricted on a B650 board. You can verify throttling by running hwinfo sensor tab together with the test. Keep in mind that certain programs (such as motherboard and RGB tools) may consume CPU resources heavily, leading to noticeable drops in performance during tests.

I utilized Performance Test from cpubenchmark.net and Blender tests. The results were around 60,000 versus approximately 66,000, and in Blender 520 instead of 600, points.

There’s some airflow over the board, which helps. You can check VRM temperatures with tools like HWInfo to ensure they stay under about 100°C. What are the CPU temperatures? Also, how is the cooling setup configured—water cooling varies a lot. With this board, a CPU temperature problem seems more likely than a bio issue.

Running Cinebench R23 now. Please let me know if you'd like a screenshot of the hwinfo sensor tab during the test.
