Set up an AIO but your PC fails to power on.
I honestly don't really know where to begin. Ill say I'm not really a forum person. I'm sure you'll all see I'm new and this is my first post. I'm not on reddit, tho I do get information on how best to troubleshoot problems, if its within reason on there. But I am totally stumped with with my issue. Today I "upgraded" to an AIO from an air cooler. I was literally watching youtube videos on my PC while I was waiting for the for the AIO to be delivered from Amazon. The AIO was delivered and I shut my pc down, flipped the switch on the PSU and started to uninstall of the air cooler and install of the AIO. I followed the instructions from the manual that I was having trouble with and got it installed. I left all the side panels off and plugged everything back into the rear IO to make sure things were working correctly, surprisingly there were no signs of life when I hit the power button. Not a fan spin or flash of RGB. Nothing. I went through the PC and checked the power supply and made sure everything was plugged in. I tried plugging the fans and pump into different fan headers to see if it would make a difference. I tried unplugging the power button from the motherboard and shorting the pins with a screwdriver thinking maybe I pinched a cable or something. I popped the CMOS battery out and popped it back in. Nothing. No signs of life what so ever. I grabbed a cheap 500w thermaltake power supply I had on hand and plugged in the 24 pin and the CPU power connector, thinking the PSU died and it did absolutely nothing. I flipped the switch on the PSU with every change I was trying to troubleshoot. I know if the CPU or RAM wasn't seated correctly the motherboard and fans would still show signs of life but I didn't even take them out anyway. I'm at total loss of what happened. I really don't know what else to troubleshoot. If anyone has any other tips or things to try ill be grateful. CPU: Ryzen 3900x GPU: RX 6800xt MB: MSI x570a-Pro PSU: Enermax 850W 80 Plus Bronze I'm sure the SSDs, RAM, case and coolers dont matter so I didn't include them. Thank you so much!
@venomtail recommended reviewing power cables. Ensure they’re fully connected. Possibly remove the cooler and verify mounting pressure. Confirm the bracket is securely fastened and the cooler matches that.
You're confirming the steps were correct, just double-checking. It looks like you're trying to verify the paste application and plastic cover removal, but it seems unclear if the PCIE and CPU were swapped. I'm not sure about mixing them in a built system—maybe clarify that. Also, no photos were shared, so I can't provide images.
The switch is active. I attempted to turn it off and on using all possible methods just in case. I also used two distinct power cables, connecting the surge plug directly to the wall outlet.
I initially connected it to the same surge outlet as my monitor, but the monitor still powers on. Now the PC is directly connected to the wall and shows no activity.
