I experienced stable performance on my Ryzen 5 3600 at around 4.4GHz, which was impressive. After switching to a better cooler and case, I tried overclocking again but kept facing blue screens. The settings remained the same, yet stability disappeared. I’m unsure what caused this change and can’t achieve consistent overclocking or undervolting during demanding tasks. Any advice would be appreciated.
It doesn't seem like that setup is helpful right now. My quick checks with PBO suggest it boosts power by about 10% at higher voltages, but only slightly in some cases. In fact, the unit gets quite hot even at standard speeds—under 15°Cs it struggles.
It seems the focus is mainly on the hardware side, but I might be mistaken. I’m at 4.4 ghz with a 3.5v score on Cinebench, and under a hyper 212 there’s room for improvement. You’ll need to understand the process and sometimes get lucky with your chip.
The 4.4ghz all-core performance feels like a nice golden upgrade for a 3600, right? I’ve only been using my first Ryzen setup for a few days, so it’s kind of like learning half the basics from scratch.
The voltage reading from my chip was quite high, and 3600 cycles definitely caused significant heat. I also used a hyper 212 setup, achieving idle temperatures between 65-70°C and nearly 100°C under load. Thanks for the feedback, but I’m not sure about the OC status before now.
Also... For clarity, when checking over 4.2ghz OC from 1.34 to 1.41, I encounter a blue screen under stress. And just to restate: before reaching a 4.4ghz OC, I was able to get it, but now it's not possible.
It’s decent, hasn’t encountered a solid all-core overclock past 4.4. I haven’t seen the Xt chips either, so I can’t confirm.
The problem isn’t the heat, it’s that the substrate can’t manage the voltage. Keep it near 1.3 for safety or accept your chip degrading quickly at 1.35.
